The game couldn’t have started any better for the Chicago Cubs. Kris Bryant started the scoring off with a solo home run to give the Cubs a 1–0 lead. Then Rizzo and Zobrist each singled to put two runners on for the Cubs.

The Cubs were able to grow their lead to 7 runs in the third and were never really threatened in the game. The Indians picked up three runs throughout the latter half of the game but the Cubs matched those with their own additional three runs.

The 9–3 final forces a game 7 in what has been a memorable 2016 World Series. One game remains that will end a long title drought for one of these two franchises. The Cubs have not won a World Series title since 1908. The Indians have won more recently, with their last title coming in 1948.
